The Mar Menor “Little Sea” despite its name, is Europe’s largest saltwater lagoon. It lies adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea separated by a 22km long sandbar known as La Manga. This sand bar creates a microclimate which allows the Mar Menor to be 2 degrees warmer than the Mediterranean making it ideal for swimming, water sports and recreational activities.

The Mar Menor forms part of the Costa Calida “ warm coast” which is approximately 250km of the Mediterranean coastline belonging to the Spanish province of Murcia. With  over 320 days of sunshine per year and an annual average temperature of 18 degrees. Mild winters offer an average temperature of 11 degrees in December and January, with temperatures averaging 27-28 degrees in July and August.

The Costa Calida has made a name for itself as the premier location for golf in Europe being played throughout the year.
